8 Crochet Designs from TV & Movies – and How to Recreate Them

Some of the most iconic fashion moments don’t happen on red carpets. They also happen on your screen while you’re four episodes deep into a binge watch. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably paused mid-show to obsess over a random handmade blanket, vest, or hat. (If you’re a knitter or a crocheter, you know what I’m talking about!)

I tracked down 8 crochet designs from beloved TV shows and movies that made us all think, “I need to make that!” Well, guess what? We can!

Here are 8 of my favorite crochet moments from media (and how to recreate them yourself!)

Kimmy from Full House wears a scarf that looks like a long piece of bacon with fried eggs sewn on.

1. The Bacon & Egg Scarf from Fuller House

Nothing says “I love breakfast and drama” like a bacon-and-egg scarf draped over your shoulders. The moment I saw this delightfully kitschy piece on Fuller House, I knew I had to make one for myself.

Molly Weasley from Harry Potter wears colorful, flowy crochet sleeves in a scene at the Weasley's house.

2. Molly Weasley’s Sleeves – Harry Potter

I’ve always loved Molly Weasley chaotic, cottagecore style. These multicolored sleeves look so cozy, and the layering possibilities are endless! Thankfully, I found a digital pattern so we can all achieve a similar look.

Roseanne cuddles her child on the couch, with a black and multi-colored granny square blanket in the background.

3. The Granny Square Couch Blanket – Roseanne

The colorful couch in Roseanne was practically a character in its own right, mostly thanks to the iconic granny square blanket permanently attached to it. (Literally. They had to sew it to the couch so it wouldn’t get stolen!) Thanks to crochet artist Vickie Howell, we can cozy up to our own version of this classic TV textile.

This scene features a white and dark blue granny square blanket.

4. The La Push Blanket – Twilight

La Push, baby! This moody, chunky throw is perfect for brooding in the woods or re-reading your high school journal.

Ross holds up a crochet pillow covered in small, multi-colored granny squares.

5. Granny Square Pillow – Friends

This rainbow granny square pillow is so charming. It looks like so comforting, like something you’d find at your grandma’s house, but I can also picture it looking so cute in my living room! There are SO many granny square patterns out there, so you can really take this idea in any direction. If you’re looking to make one similar to the photo, this video tutorial is a good place to start.

Animal crossing character wears a red sweater with multi-colored granny squares on it.

6. The Mom Sweater – Animal Crossing

Okay, this isn’t a movie or a TV show, but I just had to include it. Animal Crossing is the perfect comfort game, and the “Mom Sweater” is so adorable! This pattern really captures the homemade feel and overall look of the sweater.

Kat wears a red, lacy vest over a white button-down shirt.

7. Kat Stratford’s Crochet Vest – 10 Things I Hate About You

1999 feminist rage meets romantic Victorian fashion. Kat’s crochet vest in 10 Things I Hate About You is so perfect in every way. The pattern below is very close to the original vest. I can imagine taking it to the next level by adding some lacy, flowy bell sleeves.

8. Fezco’s Blanket – Euphoria

This puff flower granny square blanket is to die for! I love anything with puff stitches, and the color combo is so warm and comforting. This pattern from Ravelry is an exact replica!
